What are you thinking?

What are you thinking about right now as you read your novel? Could you tell us that thought in a picture?

Today you will use the Phoster app on our iPad devices to create a visual representation of your thinking right now. This will give you a chance to practice making visuals. We will be doing this several times so you can get better at it over time.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Creative Commons search and look for a picture that matches what you're thinking about. Use the Flickr search - the photos are higher quality.
  2. Once you have found the image you want, click on ACTIONS > VIEW ALL SIZES. This will take you to the highest quality version of the photo. Make sure you make a note of the Flickr username of the photographer so you can give them a credit.
  3. Press down on the image and select SAVE IMAGE. It is now in the photo library.
  4. Now go to the Phoster app and create your beautiful poster.
  5. Once you have created it, save the image to the photo library.
  6. Use the Blogger app to post it to your blog!
Here are some examples I made:

Currently I am reading a book called On the Road by Jack Kerouac
I created this poster to express my love for road trips. Reading this book is reminding me how fun they are. Original photo shared by andrewlee1967.
I designed this poster to state a fact in the book. On their road trip, Sal and Dean are really realising how much they love jazz music! Original photo shared by caroline.mair.
